In the event of necessity a New Jersey oil company can manufacture this synthetic product from petroleum in sufficient quantities to supply the major needs of the United States. The rubber, called "Butyl, is described as a companion to “Buna.” the German product. “Butyl” is made from petroleum by a much simpler process than that used in making the "Buna” rubber, and the manufacturers claim that it has several superior qualities over the natural product.
