PETROL PRICES
HOLD-UP IN BRITISH COLUMBIA. SUPREME COURT CITES COMPANIES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. VICTORIA (British Columbia), April 29. The Supreme Court of British Columbia has cited nine major oil companies for violation of the Dominion’s Combines Investigation Act due to their refusal to serve retail outlets because of the provincial price-fixing order. A cablegram from Vancouver yesterday read: —“Hundreds of automobiles stalled in the city on the fourth day of a gasoline famine which resulted from the oil companies refusing' to sell at prices which the Government set below the previous scale, though the fixing of the prices has been validated by the Court. The police had added to the confusion by threatening to fine those who break the parking regulations.”
