CHALLENGED BY AMERICAN CAPTAIN
DATE OF GERMAN INVASION OF NORWAY. OFFER OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 11.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 29. Captain William McHale, of the American freighter Mormac Sea. disputes Herr von Ribbentrop’s assertion that German troops were not given sailing orders for the invasion of Norway until April 8. Captain McHale states: “I photographed the German auxiliary Seattle in Trondheim Fiord at 2 p.m. on April 7. She was headed towards Bergen, and high out of the water. She would not be returning to Germany empty, and undobtedly carried troops. She I was idling along, apparently awaiting orders."
