MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. At the weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club held last evening m the club room. Municipal Buildings. Mr. A. G. Wiltshire presided over a good attendance of members. Referring to the language difficulty connected with the training of soldiers in Palestine, where interpreters for at least five languages are necessary. Mr. Wiltshire said that the practical solution of the problem, and of like problems which are occurring throughout the world every day. is the utilisation of the auxiliary language, Esperanto. The language is the logical choice, having been in use for over 50 years and having adepts in over 70 countries. The usual weekly tuition provided to an elementary and advanced class extended over an hour, under the direction of the secretary, Mr. W. H. King, and Mi'. Wiltshire, respectively. tn a brief address on the subject of "Travelling." the secretary stressed the advantages accruing to the traveller with a knowledge of Esperanto. A good number of New Zealand Esperantists already had had opportunities abroad of using the language, and in each case had returned to the Dominion fully convinced of the efficacy of the international language lor the purposes of travelling. Conversely, an arrival from Vienna had stated that no matter at which port his boat called, an Esperantist was always waiting to welcome him as a friend. Blackboard writing from dictation concluded an interesting and instructive meeting.
