OBITUARY

MRS. AGNES BREWERTON. Mrs. Agnes Brewerton, wife of Mr. Hugh Brewerton, passed away peacefully at her residence. 45 Cole Street. Masterton, on Saturday afternoon. The late Mrs. Brewerton was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Allen, and was born at Lower Moutere, Nelson district, on February 22. 1870. She received her education at the Lower Moutere school, and at the age of seventeen years moved with her parents to Foxhill. Nelson. She was married on August 15, 1893. to Mr. Hugh Brewerton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. Brewerton, at Wakefield. In 1918 Mr. and Mrs. Brewerton moved, with their family, to Masterton. where they have since resided. Greatly esteemed by all who know her for her kindliness and Christian hospitality. Mrs. Brewerton was to her family the most loving and self-sacri-ficing of mothers. She is survived by her husband, five sons and two daughters, as follow: —Mr. R. H. Brewerton. Mrs. J. C. Fisher and Mrs. G. Virtue. Masterton: Mr. E. V. Brewerton. Klang. Federated Malay States;. Mr. A. A. Brewerton. Wanganui; Mr. 1,. W. Brewerton. Hamilton, and Mr. N. V. Brewerton. Wellington. There are also nine grandchildren. The funeral took place this afternoon.
