COUNTRY DISTRICTS SUB-CENTRE,
I A very satisfactory meeting of the Country Districts sub-centre ol ' th.' Red Cross was held in the Country Women’s Chib last week, and an allday sowing bee resulted in the production of a large case of clothing and hospital equipment. The sub-centre is grateful to Mrs. Dodds and Mrs. Fred Daniell for the loan of sewing machines for the duration of the war. and to the W.F.C.A. for the use of a trestle table. A splendid number of gifts has been received, among which were parcels from the Tinui Emergency Committe, the Opaki Women’s Institute, the Teachers’ Association, and the Ranfurly Club. The next sewing bee is to meet on Wednesday, May 1 at 10 a.m.
