KURIPUNI CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS,

The annual meeting of the Kuripuni Tennis Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. last night when the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Pat ■ ron, Mr J. Robertson. M.P.; president Mr B. McMaster; vice-presidents Messrs W. Emerson, R. Costello, W. Nicol, G. Beecroft. L. Henderson, E. E. Coddington. G. R. Deane; secretarytreasurer. Mr H. Tinsley; club captain Mr H. Vollheim; vice-captain. Mr A. Jones; committee, Mr A. Jaspers, Misses J. Rutherford, N. Jones. Mr.Wright; selectors, Messrs B. McMaster and H. Vollheim. and Miss J. Rutherford. It was decided to officially open the season on the club's courts on Satur day, October 7, members of other clubs to be invited to be present. MEMORIAL CLUB. BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Memorial Lawn Tennis Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. hall last night. Mr J. Jameson presiding over a fair attendance. In presenting the report and balancesheet Mr Jameson congratulated the club's officials on the splendid result;of their management during the season. and mentioned that the Memorial Club was now the leading club in the Wairarapa in membership with 154 members.

Several new members were elected while a number of resignations were received.

Mr J. A; Kennedy moved that if any members of the club were called up for military duties during the season the subscription be waived, and thai on their return they be granted hon ary membership for one season. Marchbanks and B. J. Roach: hon auditor, D. B. Curry; grounds committee man, Mr L. Connolly; delegates to the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs J. A. Kennedy, B M. Hurley and C. K. Long; ladder steward, Mr B. M. Hurley., After considerable discussion on club matters the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair.

MT BRUCE CLUB.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The annual general meeting of the Mt Bruce Tennis Club was held in the Mt Bruce Hall last night. The president (Mr F. J. Miller) presided over an excellent attendance of members and intending members. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr FL- West; president, Mr F. J. Miller; vice-president, Mr C. E. Welch; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr W. V. Buick; committee, Messrs C. E. Welch. T. Wyeth, D. Meurk, Miss J. Allington. Miss M. West and Mrs T. Wyeth.

The subscriptions were fixed at 10s for men, 7s 6d for ladies and 5s for juniors. Several new members were elected.

WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL REPORT.

The annual report of the Wairarapa Cricket Association, which is signed by Mr S. Brice (president) and Mr T. E. Handcock (secretary) states inter alia:—From the beginning of last season there was manifest evidence that the enthusiasm of past seasons would be maintained. The itinerary of representative matches was not so heavy as the previous season, but your committee was unable to arrange suitable matches for any other representative games. The financial statement, although! not so good as previously, shows a credit of £ll 19s 4d, but the expenditure side shows Mr J. R. Sheffield's expenses £5 Ils, and this season full rebates to clubs amounting to £l2 were paid. The following statement was made through the Press from the New Zealand Cricket Council: “In support of the views expressed by the New Zealand Government, the New Zealand Cricket Council appeals to all associations, clubs and cricketers to maintain their competitions as far as possible during the coming season. In doing so they will bo fulfilling a national duty and rendering a useful service to the community generally. It is understood that in so doing players will not allow cricket to interfere with military obligations.”

Your management committee sincerely thank all those who contributed to the success of the season. The umpires, selectors, officers of the association. representatives on the N.Z. C.C.. and others. The publicity given by the Press was invaluable and much appreciated. To the Masterton Borough Council and the Wairarapa College Committee for the use of the grounds, and the respective groundsmen. we tender our thanks and appreciation. Your management committee held 10 meetings during the season. The respective attendances were as follows: —Messrs T. E. Handcock, 10; R. Londrum, 9; A. McPherson. 9; V. Greer, 9; G. B.
