A Ministry of Information communique cites an "authoritative” sources reply to Dr Goebbels's denial that Nazi leaders had accumulated fortunes abroad. This refers to Dr Goebbels’s sumptuous parties and private extravagances and the immediate withdrawal of a film depicting his luxurious home life and mentions Marshal Goering’s possession of forty-two motor-cars, entertainment at a cost of half a million marks for a hunting expedition and demands for museum pieces in order to decorate his homes. Other instances of ostentation are mentioned.
