Bringing love to hearts filled with hate, and a twinkle to eyes filled with tears, “Heidi” tells of an embittered mountain-ton ejfile brilliantly portrayed by Jean Hersholt. reclaimed from his fierce hatred of th.world of a young girl who finds the strength and courage to walk again, and of the little heroine who bring-' everyone new zest for life. Arthur Treacher and Helen Westley play prominent roles in the story. Written into the play are two dance sequences that oresent the first star of the screen a* her greatest. “In Our Little Wooden Shoes,” the specially composed song gives Shirley a gay and charming interlude in the warmly dramatic story. “Heidi” is ideally cast and gloriously played.
