GERMAN ARMIES ADVANCING ON CITY
Hopes of the High Command MILITARY OPERATIONS WELL AHEAD OF SCHEDULE POLISH MAIN LINE FORTIFICATIONS STILL UNTOUCHED (By Telegraph.—Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.in.) LONDON, September 7. The Associated Press of America Berlin correspondent , states that three German armies today are bearing down on Warsaw, from the north, west and south, and the occupation of the capital is declared to be inevitable. The High Command predicts that Lublin also will soon be within range of the German guns. Military operations are pronounced to be well ahead ot schedule, though regarding England the army has been warned that more difficult assignments lie ahead. . . The British United Press Berlin correspondent says it is officially announced that the troops have reached Pultusk, thirty miles from Warsaw. Reuter’s Berlin correspondent says Herr Hitler is continuing to tour the Eastern front between Tuchel and Graudenz. The Associated Press of America Paris correspondent reports that it is stated that although the Germans are halfway to Warsaw, via Lodz, the Polish main line fortifications as vet are untouched. . •
