EKETAHUNA SALE. READY SALE FOR COWS AND HEIFERS. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd report as follows on their Eketahuna sale:—A fair yarding of dairy stock came forward and was submitted to a fair attendance of the public. Good quality cows and heifers met with a ready market at best late rates. Late calvers and cattle of indifferent quality were not sought after. A few pens of pigs were easily disposed of at good prices. We quote:— Cattle: Cows, young, close to profit, £l2 ss, £l2, £ll 2s 6d, £ll to £9 10s; cows in milk, £8 12s Gd to £9 10s; unsound cows, £6 5s to £4; springing heifers, best, £8 5s to £7 7s 6d; later calvers, £6 15s, £5 12s 6d; small do, £4 ss. Pigs: Weaners, 24s to 21s; small 18s.
