CROSS—CRARER. A marriage which created considerable interest was solemnised at St Andrews Church, Wairoa, on July 22, the contracting parties being Mavis Ann, only daughter of Mr and Mrs T. S. Crarer, and Owen Herbert, elder son of Mr and Mrs H. Cross, Masterton. The Rev N. K. Finch performed the ceremony, and Miss M. Aldridge presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an ankle length frock of white satin, embossed in green and gold, and a white crinoline halo hat from which fell a shoulder length veil. A beautiful sheath of flowers to tone completed a charming ensemble. Miss Jean Hocking, of Gisborne, a cousin of the bride, attended as bridesmaid and was attired in a blue floral ankle length frock with which was worn a top-knot of blue flowers and a shoulder length veil.. She carried a sheath of flowers to tone, and wore a string of Riechelieu pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Ron Cameron, of Plimmerton, capably carried out the duties of best man, Following the ceremony a reception was held at Osleis tea rooms where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted by Mrs Cross. Friends and relatives from many parts of the North Island were present and numerous congratulatory telegrams were received by Mr and Mrs Cross. On leaving for their honeymoon the bride wore a navy silk frock trimmed with braid, and a smart coat of navy astrakhan trimmed with grey fur. Her navy Prince Charming hat was completed with a white ostrich plume. Mr and Mrs Cross will make their future home in Inglewood. GASKIN—BLUETT. St Andrew’s Church, Cambridge, was the scene of a wedding recently, when Gladys Gwendoline, third daughter of Mr and Mrs C. G. Bluett, of Motumapho, Morrinsvilje, was married to George Payne (Jack), youngest son of Mr J. Gaskin and the late Mrs Gaskin, of Eketahuna. The ceremony was performed by the Rev C. W. Chandler. The bridge, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of White satin cut on bias lines, the skirt falling in soft folds to form a long train. A wide girdle laced with silver cord encircled the waistline. The bodice was fashined with long tapering high-shouldered sleeves and a heartshaped neckline finished with two diamante clips. Her tulle veil was held to the head with large white flowers and fell to form a second train, and she carried a bouquet of white cyclamen, irises and asparagus fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Molly McGinnity, of Cambridge, who wore an attractive frock of pow-der-blue figured satin cut on slim-fit-ting lines and worn with a turbanshaped headdress. She carried a bouquet of yellow freesias and blue irisesThe bridegroom was attended by Mr S. Schultz, of Waihi, as best man, and Messrs C. Bluett and D. Honeycombe were ushers at the church. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where the rooms were charmingly decorated with blue and yellow flowers, Mrs Bluett recejved the guests in a moss-green frock trimmed with rust, a felt hat to tone and furs. She carried a posy of yellow freesias. Mr and Mrs G. P. Gaskin will make their home at Waihi Beach.
