BRITISH RESERVE FLEET THROUGHOUT AUGUST & SEPTEMBER. STRENGTH OF MOBILISED FORCES. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, July 31. Twelve thousand men from the reserve fleet reported for duty this morning at the various depots, and in a few days’ time ail vessels of the reserve fleet will be fully manned and munitioned, ready for any emergency throughout August and September. The King will review the reserve fleet at Weymouth on August 9. His Majesty will see 130 vessels, which will be available to reinforce the permanent squadrons and flotillas. By August 4, the anniversary of the Great War, Britain will have 641,000 men on active service, made up of 135,000 territorials. 34.000 militiamen, 140.000 sailors, 12,000 naval reservists, 220,000 regular army and 100.000 airmen.
