4, GOLF COMPETITION BEST MEDAL CARDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The best cards in a medal handicap played on Saturday were as follows:— Senior: S. W. Martin, score 81, handicap 9, total 72; J. Wall, 90, 15. 75. Junior: B. C. Friend, score 105, handicap 30, total 75; N. C. D. Mason, 100, 23, 77. Next Saturday the second round of the Martin Cup competition will be played in conjunction with the second championship qualifying round. MINIATURE RIFLES TEAMS TO MEET CARTERTON. Conwell and Mr and Mrs L. Harris were visitors to Palmerston North for the Hewes—Raymond wedding which took place on Saturday. Mrs Aitchison acted as hostess for the bride. Mr and Mrs R. McLaren and their daughter Elaine are spending several weeks holiday in Christchurch.
