LADIES’ GOLF MEDAL ROUND RESULTS. (“Times-Age" Special.) The medal round which was postponed from Wednesday on account oi the weather was later played at Gumgrove and resulted: —Mrs Benton 1 Mrs McCarthy 2, Miss Bloxam 3. INTERHOUSE GAMES In the interhouse games played on Friday afternoon the following were the results: —Basketball, A grade: Rata drew with Konini, 5 all; Nikau lost tc Kowhai. B grade: Kowhai beat Nikau; Konini beat Rata. Football, A grade: Rata beat Konini. B grade: Kowhai beat Nikau. CARD PARTY IN AID OF BOY SCOUTS. — A very successful 50fr card party was held at Mr A. D. Johnston’s residence on Saturday evening. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs Tutbury 1, Miss M. Nix 2. Men: Mr Rae 1, Mr Ashworth 2. *Mr Harry Piper donated a lucky cup prize which was won by Mrs Halpin. Mr Johnston gave the party for the benefit of the Scout troop to assist them in their efforts to raise £4O for the purchase of troop equipment for the Jamboree at Heretaunga next Christmas. Similar gatherings will be given by various friends of the movement from time to time, in addition to the weekly euchre tournament every Tuesday in the Odd Fellows Hall. HOCKEY DANCE SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. ■ The weekly hockey dance held in the Anzac Hall on Saturday night was very successful, there being a good attendance. Mr Chas. Buck was M.C. Mr Len Daysh supplied the music, while extras were played by Mr T. Simmonds. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr and Mrs W. Davis and the Lucky Spot dance by Mr and Mrs R. Skipage. GOLF GAMES j CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. | The third round for the Stableford competition played on Saturday, resulted as follows: —J. Hearfield, 19, 14, 33, 1; D. Me William, 15, 17, 32, 2; G. O’Neale, 24, 5, 29, and J. McCallum, 19, 10, 29 (equal), 3. The following is the draw for the club championship commencing next Saturday:— Seniors: W. Rowles (bye); N. Shepherd v. H. Bloxam; W. Fountain (bye); K. Allen (bye); G. O’Neale v. T. Lang; J. Wilson (bye); W. Jeffrey v. J. McCallum; H. Wehipeihana (bye). Juniors: T. Hardie (bye); J. Hearfield v. L. G. Benton; J. W. Card v. H. The first round is to be played by August 12, and the second round by August 19. Badminton Exhibition. On Tuesday night a visit will be paid to the Featherston Badminton Club by a Wairarapa Colts' team which will play Wellington in a representative match on Saturday night. Several exhibition matches will be played as well as games against the Featherston Club. Play will commence at 7 o’clock. Piano Recital. A piano recital was given at the residence of Dr and Mrs S. G. Sharp on Friday night, when Mr Paul Schram, the pianist, delighted his audience with his clever interpretation and witty remarks. He chose for his programme the following pieces, which included classical, romantic, and modern numbers: —Sonata (Moonlight), Beethoven; Papillons, R. S. Schumann; Nocturne in M Major. Berceuse, Three Ecossaises, Polonaise in A Major, Waltz No. 6 (Chopin); La Cathedrale Euglontie, General LavineEccentric (C. Debussy); La Vallie des Cloches, Alborado del Gracioso (Maurice Ravel); Marche Grotesque (Prokofieff) and a pianoforte sketch entitled Sleepy Piano. Personal. Mrs Algar Williams paid a short visit to Featherston on Friday and was the guest of Mrs G. S. Sharp. Mr D. Clark, New Plymouth, who has been in hospital for three weeks, has returned home. Mrs Ward has returned home from the Greytown Hospital.
