«> MEETING IN MASTERTON. Mr R. Gordon Lee. owing to Mr P. R. Welch being indisposed, presided ever a fair attendance at a meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association held last night. Mr Lee referred to the loss suffered by the Association in the death oi Messrs C. E. Daniell and C. Matthews both old and valued members. A motion of condolence was passed with the relatives and also with Mr R. Weston in his bereavement. Correspondence was received from the Polled Angus Association regarding special prizes at the next show also from the Southdown Sheep Society offering two medals for competition. Members commented favourably on the generous offer. The secretary, Mr R. 11. Williams reported on the recent annual conference of A. and P. secretaries and presidents. The ground and finance committees’ reports were adopted. Accounts :-.oi £47 Ils 3d were passed. The annual meeting of the association was fixed for August 9 at 2 p.m. Messrs A. D. Low. J. H. Irving. S. R Divers and V. Heath were appointee scrutineers. A report was received regarding the Ball to be held next Wednesday, anc arrangements were stated to be well in hand under the direction of an on ergetic committee. Owing to a shortage of light refreshments last year, iwas decided to increase the claret cup substantially. Members expressed their approval of the appointment as secretary of the Wairarapa Farmers' Union of Mr R H. Williams, secretary of the A. and P. Association.
