FEILDING SALE. IMPROVEMENT IN PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, July 14.. A further steady improvement in prices was noticed at the stock sale held in Feilding, when a fairly large yarding of good conditioned animals was offered. Cattle sold freely. Topline breeding ewes were in demand, and lambs, which were not particularly attractive, made only fair values. A feature of the dairy sale was the high level of prices for cows. Pedigree Jersey heifers, springing, made made up to £l4, and a special entry of heifers, brought prices ranging from £7 15s to £ll. Third calvers made to £ll, fourth calvers to £9. Springing cows ranged from £4 10s for late calvers to £9 for cows at drop. Forward heifers made £6 17s 6d to £8 Bs, and late calvers from £3 15s to £4 10s The heavy yarding of run cattle sold well at decidedly good prices, and half-year P.A. steers made £6 10s to £7 17s 6d. Other P.A. steers made from £4 2s to £5 ss. P.A. weaner steers made £2, and P.A. cows £3 5s and £3 10s. Hereford-shorthorn cross bullocks brought £6 18s; shorthorn bullocks, £4 15s; and shorthorn heifers, £2 10s to £3 4s. Hereford cows sold at £3 7s 6d. and Hereford steers at £4 10s to £7 2s. Boner cows made from £2 15s to £4. Fat cattle were in fair supply, though some poor quality lines were forward. Good heavy P.A. bullocks made £ll 2s, light £7 2s; P.A. heifers in prime condition, £6 10s to £8 ss; P.A. steers. £7. Good prime beef cows made £6 17s 6d to £8 2s 6d. A heavy yarding of fat sheep was forward. Extra-quality lambs and ewes sold at advanced prices, but for fair quality the market was at the previous level. Extra prime fat lambs made 20s lOd to 21s Id; medium quality 16s 6d to 19s 4d; prime heavy fat ewes, 20s 3d to 20s 7d; extra prime, 23s Id; average quality ewes, 16s to 18s 3d; prime heavy wethers, 20s to 21s 7d; extra prime, 22s 4d;‘ fair to average, 16s 6d to 19s 2d; prime maiden ewes, 21s to 22s Id; good, 16s 7d to 20s; prime two-tooth, 17s 9d to 18s 7d. The store sheep market was quiet, but with a demand for good breeding ewes. Two-tooth ewes r.w. Southdown rams, made 25s to 30s 2d; four-year, 20s 6d; four and six-tooth, 245; five and sixyear, 12s 6d; aged ewes, 12s. Pigs: Weaners, 16s to 20s; slips, 235; stores, 29s to 29s 6d.

CARTERTON SALE. FAT SHEEP VALUES FIRMER. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., report as follow:—We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday when we offered a fair yarding to a good attendance. Fat sheep were firmer while all classes of other sheep were about the same. Springing heifers sold well and other cattle.unade late rates. Pigs were firmer. Prices ruled as follows: — Sheep:—Fat wethers, 19s, 21s to 245; fat b.f.’s, 13s 7d to 16s; fat hoggets, to 14s sd; small 21th wethers, 9s 6d, 10s 3d to 11s 6d; 2-th wethers, Ils to 12s sd; f and f b.f.’s to 12s 6d; ewe hoggets (good), to 18s; fat ewes, to 13s; shorn wether hoggets, 7s 6d to 8s 6d; b.f. hoggets, to Ils Id; small ditto, 5s lOd, 6s t 7s 6d; small shorn wr hoggets, to 5s 3d; woolly wether hoggets, 7s 2d to 9s 4d; 2-th ewes r.w. S.D. rams, to 12s; m.a. ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 9s 3d to 9s 6d.
