FOOTBALL PROTEST DECISION POSTPONED. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the Bush Rugby Union a protest was received from the Eketahuna Club in connection with the Eketahuna-Mangatainoka third grade match played on July 1. but as the statements made by the Eketahuna and Mangatainoka clubs conflicted, it was decided to postpone a decision pending further evidence from the Eketahuna Club. An application for a transfer from a third grade player from Eketahuna to Pahiatua was refused, as the rules do not permit-transfers after the playing of the first round. A CROQUET QUESTION CUP TO MAURICEVILLE.

The vexed question of which Croquet Club in the Country Clubs' Association was the winner of the Cup was, settled by an appeal by Mauriceville to headquarters. Eketahuna won the highest number of games and Mauriceville the highest points and the Cup was awarded to the latter on points. GOLF COMPETITION DRAW FOR WHITE CUP.
