WERAROA ESCAPEES

UNLAWFUL CONVERSION CHARGE TWO ACCUSED REMANDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH. July 4. Two escapees from the Weraroa Training Farm who were arrested yesterday appeared in Court today charged with unlawful conversion of a motor-car valued at £2OO, at Levin, on Sunday. On the application of the police they were remanded to appear in Palmerston North on Thursday. The accused are Kevin James Scalmer. aged 19 and Te Rawharawhiti Wareta, aged 17. Reports of the disappearance of a demonstration car from Levin led to a watch being kept in Taranaki. Three youths were arrested. The third is being dealt with in the Children’s Court.
