Seventy thousand Fascist women, in massed and military formations, marched past the Duce on the Via Del Impero. A cohort of helmeted and khakidressed girls, carrying rifles and fixed bayonets, got a special ovation from the crowd. The parade finished up with a complete Red Cross division of cars and ambulances, all driven by girls, followed by a squadron of women cavalry. Signor Mussolini later addressed a great crowd of shrieking and cheering women from the balcony of the Palazzo Venezia.
