It’s the RAGE of Paris -- - - a fur muff to match a fur hat!

The Novelty of the Season (right) —an over-the-shoulder muff and matching toque of. Chinese opossum.. . The shaggy grey, black and white fur is an attention-getter everywhere. The silhouette of the muff, too, is so radically different that it snares every eye.. You may expect to see this striking ensemble on ladies who lead, rather than follow fashion. . Will you be the Nev/ Zealand pioneer?

When Schiaparelli first looked into Victoriana, she found quaint little barrel muffs—but before she finished with them, muffs grew into giant melons, enormous bolsters tied in the middle, tremendous pillows, and long, slim sausages! The fantastic, the merrier, until every woman of fashion in Paris is now carrying a fur muff to match her fur hat, and Sandra predicts that it won’t be long before New Zealand women will be doing it, too!

Paris calls this a Sleeve Muff (left) —but we call it a long sausage of antelope and Persian lamb, to match the jaunty Persian pillbox. You can insert both hands into the muff, but Parisiennes wear it on one arm, pulled up almost to the shoulder. Alternating strips of antelope and fur confirm the Paris way of using bands of Persian lamb repeated in a spiral swirl for the tiny pillbox hat topped by a’ giant jewel-studded hatpin.
