CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. “The craziest driving I Have ever seen in a built-up area,” was how Traffic Tait .the Actions of Henry George Harris, who pleaded guilty in the. S.M. Court today to driving in a manner which might have been dangerous to tflq,public?.., , Harris was . fined £lO by Mr H. A. Young, S.M., his licence was cancelled, and he was prohibited from obtaining another until May 31, 1940. Seeing Harris approaching at a high speed he turned his motor-cycle and set off,, after Him, said the. Inspector. He checked Harris’s speed over eight intersections at 55 miles ah Hour and, although , travelling..at his top,speed, the inSpector was unable to 'ditch him until, over a mile had Been . covered, Continuing Inspector Tait said .that Harris had been seen. Hy tiie. Sumner inspector earlier but he was, travelling too fast for Rinj to get his number. The inspector added it Harris’s licence was endorsed he would lose Ms job. , . “That doesn’t matter; ih'e'll have Jo get another job.” said the magistrate.
