MEMEL PROBLEM
HERR HITLER'S STATEMENT AT, BERCHTESGADEN. GLAD TO SAVE THINGS AS THEY ARE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) RUGBY, December 22. Herr Hitler informed Mr Chamberlain at Berchtesgaden that he was glad to leave Memelland as it was, so long as the Memel Statute was observed by the Lithuanian Government. This was stated by the Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain today in the House of Commons, in answer to a question.
