TRADE DOMINATION SOUGHT IN BALKANS RESULT OF ANNEXATION OF SUDETENLAND. MULTILATERAL PACTS TO BE USED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) BERLIN, October 7. German trade domination of Central Europe and of the Balkans is considered assured as the result of the annexation of Sudetenland. British and French attempts to counter the trade drive by credits to south-eastern European countries are expected to cease. Plans for a federation of the smaller Danubian countries, excluding Germany, are regarded as dead. The importance attached by Germany’s trade pacts negotiated by Herr Funk is reflected by authoritative Press articles, in which it is semi-offi-cially stated that after the successful conclusion of Turkish negotiations, Herr Funk is visiting other south-east-ern capitals. 1 In developing Balkan trade, Germany plans to use multilateral trade pacts, enabling Germany to monopolise exports to these countries in exchange for German manufactures and reselling the products monopolised at prices below the world market.
