FEATHERSTON

WELCOME TO MR AND MRS HAYES (“Times-Age” Special.) A welcome was given on Tuesday afternoon to Mr and Mrs Hayes by the members of the Home and School Association and School Committee. On her arrival Miss Card presented Mrs Hayes with a posy made by Mrs Carlyon. After tea had been served speeches of welcome were made by Messrs Kenward (school committee) and Kilsby (school staff), Miss Card (parents’ association), and the Rev. R. S. Keenan (Dental Clinic). In returning thanks for the warm welcome he had received Mr Hayes expressed the hope that the parents would co-operate with him in carrying out his duties. Mrs M. Tocker sang a solo. Personal. Mrs Rea has left for Wellington to meet her sister, Mrs W. Robertson, who will return by the Wanganella from a tour of-the Continent. Mr J. W. Card and Miss Esma Card have returned from Palmerston North and Levin respectively.
