Mrs Hart, of Westport, is a visitor to Featherston. Miss T. Mcllraith, of Christchurch, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs G. H. Hood, of Greytown. Mr and Mrs G. R. Croll, Masterton, have left on a visit to Vancouver, San Francisco and Honolulu. Mr and Mrs E. Staniforth, of Essex Street, Masterton, left yesterday for Napier, where they will spend a holiday. Mrs C. E. Butcher, Lower Hutt, and her daughters, Misses Marjory and Beryl Butcher, will leave shortly for the West Coast, where they will join Mr C. E. Butcher, who has recently been appointed controller of customs at Greymouth. Mrs Butcher is a daughter of Mrs Fraser Thompson, of Greytown. The death occurred at Wellington recently of Mrs Agnes Stuart Leslie Johnston, eldest daughter of the late Mr John Stuart Fleming. Mrs Johnston was trained as a nurse at the Wellington Public Hospital, and for a short period was acting-matron of the Greytown Hospital. A very enjoyable gift evening was spent in the Epiphany Hall last evening, when Mr Bruce McMaster and Miss Thelma Dickason were entertained by members and supporters of the Kuripuni Tennis Club. The young couple, who are to be married shortly, received many presents. Much appreciated dance extras were played by Mr O. Thompson.
