TRY THESE RECIPES. Banana and Lettuce Sandwich. Cut slightly stale white bread thin and spread lightly with butter. Mix shredded lettuce with mayonnaise and spread on one slice of bread, putting thinly-sliced bananas on top of the lettuce. Cover with another slice of bread and cut into triangles. Banana and Pineapple Sandwich. Mix equal parts, about half a cupful each, of banana pulp and finelychopped pineapple with two , tablespoonfuls honey, a little grape-juice, and the juice of one lemon. Cut bread thin, spread and serve with ice cream. Fig Rolls. Put three figs through a mincer, add two tablespoonfuls chopped nuts and enough orange marmalade to spread. Ring. Sandwich—l. '.v. With a large cutter stamp out slices of white bread in rounds. With a smaller cutter cut circles out of half of them, leaving rings of bread. Spread the large rounds with creamed butter and mayonnaise, place a slice of tomato on this and fit on a bread ring. The small rounds may be heaped with some other filling.

Ring Sandwich —11. With softened cream cheese, mix about half a cupful of finely-chopped watercress and spread on large rounds of bread. Fit on rings and put a star of pimento in centre.
