YOUNG FARMERS
MEETING OF MASTERTON CLUB. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Young Farmers’ Club was held on Wednesday night, when there were 30 members present, together with 15 members of the Tinui Club. The secretary reported a good credit balance had, been realised at the recent dance, held in honour of the visiting English young farmers. The main feature of the evening was a debate between representatives of the Tinui and Masterton clubs on the subject: “That heredity is a greater influence than environment.” The debate, which proved interesting and informative, was won by the Tinui club. The teams were as follow:— Masterton: —Messrs G. Blatchford (leader), J. S. McKay and J. Coom. Tinui: —Messrs J. Groves (leader), D. Spooner and L. Mee. The judge was Mr S. A. La Roche.
