SOUP TUBS. LATEST IN TABLE-WARE. Soup tubs instead of soup plates are the latest thing in table-ware. These little individual tubs are of the gayest coloured pottery, clear yellow, royal blue, bright green, and tangerine. Each one has its own small saucer to stand on and a lid to keep its contents piping hot. There is also a big matching dish on which all the tubs are brought to the table. Isaac Pitman, author of the most used system of shorthand, was a teetotaller and vegetarian. By profession, he was a schoolmaster.
