A Grievance.
To the Editor of the Standard. Pib, —I beg to draw your attention to the report ol the Csrterton Borough Council You will see that Councillor Beyliss complained of the trai.iw-y leading to E L Wakulla's mill, Carterton, by which logs are supplied, with tbo intention of closing the mill, as I take it. Now, the said tram has beau constructed about three years, and not a single complaint has been made until now, neither has any alteration been made to tbo same. An inspection has been made up the tramway by the Councillors and should they cause the tramway to be disturbed, the mill will bp stopped and will throw out IB hands, which Will be a great loss to the place. The same thing wis tried three years back by threatening to stop tbd tag waggon travelling upon the roads, but os the mil! was shifted to where it now is, the Carterton Tsratshi fioad Board let the matter drop. That coat about £3OO and now they hod a new opportunity to make things unpleasant This is fostering local«Ul jhwtriee with a vengeance. 1 am, <feo., Csamio>uv. Cartel too, July 29.
