SPORTING.
HACK BAOINtt CLUB. A largely attended meeting of person* interested in formings Hack Bseing dub was held at the Oddfellows’ Hell, Fcatherstou, on Saturday evening. After discussing ways and means and the amount of prim money which could be snared, it ws* earned unanimously, “ That a club be formed to be called the Festhereton Town and Suburban Hack Bseing Glob, to carry ont hack raoa meetings on the course kindly offered by W H Niool, Esq.” Of the thirty person* present 27 gave in their names as members, the fee being fixed at 20s per unnnm. Eleven gentlemen were nominated for the office of stewards, die ballot resulting in the following seven being elected, viz., Messrs W H Niool, B Buokeridge, Joseph Gundy, W Buekeridge, John Tooker, Walter Hodder, junior, and K McKenzie. W Niool was appointed secretary and treasurer, and the election of other officers deferred until next meeting of the steward*. It was proposed to hold the first meeting on the 9th November if possible. Considerable interest was shown in the proceedings, it being felt that the club wonld do good to the district in many ways.
