Wairarapa Gun Club.

GOOD SHOO UNO. The Onn Club held a most successful and enjoyable meeting at the Plattarm Farm, near Qreytown, on Saturday. The day wae delightfully flue for the_ purpose being warm and sunshiny, with 'no wind, and the shooting members of the club being well represented. The shooting also, on the whole, was well worthy of the occasion, being remarkably good, although the birds in many instances did not rise so well as could be desired. Mr Hammericb, the treasurer o! the club, with Mr A Jones, who volunteered to act as puller, were very indefatigable iu carrying out the duties devolving upon them, , and-Mr Charles Higgins, the secretary, and Mr E R Jones, the referee, were at their posts and, with the trapper, Mr A Bowers, per formed their respective functions without any bitch or dissatisfaction. Mr N Gruee would have stood a grand chance for first or second honors, but lost two of his wounded birds Mr W E Bidwill shot in excellent form, and hit every bird, and one got away bmilv wounded. Mi John Bidwill shot five buds in succession, but missed the first two. Mr E Vanned made some good and rather difficult shots, bat Messrs Buchanan and C Bidwill were unfortunate with their birds, some not being struck in a vital part, and thus getting away. The shooting, as a whole, was something for the club to be proud of, as it was shown that among the active members there are a cam. her that could hold their own amongst the members of any elnb in the colony or else* where, and should they at any time be in* dined to challenge a gun club in any other part of New Zealand, they can find redoubtable representatives to enter the contest. The second place was fixed for by Messrs W R Bidwill, Tanned and J 0 Bidwill. Mr J Bidwill missed his first and retired, and Messrn Tancred and W Bidwill respectively, after shooting three birds in succession, decided to divide the second money. Second Match. Id the second match some splendid shooting was displayed, five of the competitors out of seven hitting hie bird with his first barrel in the three first shots, Urßawson, the winner, hitting every bird, and Mr W E Bidwill killing 4 ont ol S, Every bird shot by the respective competitors fell at the first pull.
