The football match at Masterton on Saturday between the Stars and Te Ore Ore resulted in a draw. There was a Incas afterwards owing to some ill feeling displayed by the Natives. On Saturday the football match, Qreytown v Matarawa, resulted in a draw, neither side scoring.

QREYTOWN v. CARTERTON. The above teams played off last Saturday for second place in the Senior Cup—Masterton having got first place. The teams were placed as follows Greytown—Full Back, Sep Tally ; halls, £ ;Udy and Joe Terry; quarters, A Udy, H Tuliy, and Tooker; forwards, 0 and J Beard, C Udy, Connolly, Q Humphries, Goldsmith, Hobman, Muir, and Byan. Carterton—Full back, A Moore ; halls, Ussher and Bethnne; quarters, J Banmber, Rutherford and Nicholson; forwards, 0 Pairbrothr, Bead, 3 Peters, Tyler Moors (3), Kemble, Booth, and Smith, Qreytown played two men short for a little while, Muir and Terry not turning up until the gams had started. C Beard kicked off and Banmber made a good return kick into touch near the half way flag. Carterton immediately rushed the ball into Qreytown territory, the leather going out within five yards of the Qreytown goal line. From a pass by Banmber, Ussher had a pot at goal, the ball only going wide by a yard or two. Qreytown rushed the oval op the field, and from a kick by a Carterton player, Toeker marked, and gained a lot of ground, the ball going out neat the Carterton 3g. Carterton rallied and with a rush carried the play into Qreytown territory, and owing te a mull by Sep Tuliy, Carterton were very nearly scoring. Tyler had a clear run in, bnt Q Humphries caught up to him, and was forced to snccnmb. Carterton now bad Qreytown in their own US’s. A Udy got a free kick through some off {side play by Carterton. Greytown now got the play loose and rushed it into Carterton territory, where some flue passing by the Qreytown forwards took place, Terry neatly getting over the line. OUdy showed up with a fine dribble. From a good pass £ Udy got the oval and splendidly fending two or three of bis opponents off got over the line near the corner, and was allowed unopposed to get behind the goal. He converted his try into a goal. When half time was called the score stood—Qreytown three points to nil. Very soon after the ball was kicked off by Fairbrother there was some good passing between U Tuliy and 0 Beard, the latter getting over the line and scoring another try for Qreytown ; F, Udy took the kiok but did not increase tbe score, the angle beiug difficult. Carterton kicked out and the ball was rushed from end of the field to the other, Carterton being best at packed scrimmages, and Qreytown at loose play. 0 Beard passed to E Udy, who run in and placed another try to bis side, near tbe corner E Udy made a grand attempt for goal. Cirterton now made some most determined efforts to score, the forwards working most deeper* ately, and looked like scoring two or three times, but Greytown were not to be denied, ?. nd m Bomo Stand passing took place between 11 Tuliy, C Beard and S Udy» tbe latter nearly sooting, Lnoeoa grassing him. From this to the end of tbe game Carterton tried hard to score, but without result, Greytown winning by five points to nil. Ussbei, Lnoena, Bethnne and Banmber playedjrandly as backs for the losers ; so also did Kemble, Booth, Fairbrother, Smith and Bead among. the forwards.
