Pity, the Poor Man.
To the Editor of tin Standard,
Si* - I notice Mr Bunny's meeting-«( Oartertoo thas be had the audacity to endeavour to palm himmK off eg a “poor won." Now, Sir, 1 would like to appeal to all poor man, and ask them if a mas ean be called poor who enjoys a Qovernmeat billet of £6OO a year (or did very recently) sod always keep# his carriage and mao to look alter it. I woold also wish to pomt oat that even il Ur Bonny is poor (which seems doubtful) be deserves no credit (or being in that position, having possessed every advantage, intells*tually, professionally, and also as a land proprietor, lor improving bis position, and kad he been trne to himself aud others, he woold doubtless have been as sooosssfnl (and probably mom so) as bis political rival.
