Entertainment.

The members of the Greytown Amateur Dramatic Club having been most unfortu nate by presenting the majority of their performances in the past on inclement nights, resolved to give an entertainment on Monday night to augment their funds, ft was feared on Monday morning that the Clerk of the Weather intended to water them again, but he relented and left them to the tender mercies of the public. The public did not, however, show that interest which the occasion appeared to demand and the house was not crammed. Being a cold night it would have been better if it had been. Still the attendance was fairly good and as the entertainment was a varied one, everybody seemed to enj< y it, “The Two Thompsons” was cap. ady rendered by Mr Campbell and Mr Barnard, the latter gentleman personifying four characters with much ability. The second part of the programme was devoted to a Minstrel entertainment. There were nine chairs Mr G. Phillips representing Bones, Mr Barnard Tam bo, and Mr Campbell Bruider Johnston. Songs were given by Mes?i s Hawke, Hobman, Campbell, Barnard, PI illips and Black, the latter gentleman being encored. There were ihe usual jokes and conundrums, in which the Greytown School Committee and its Chairman wei j not forgotten. The third part of the progr: mme was a laughable farce “Ajax and Hercules,” the players fulfilling their respective parts very well. Altogether the entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed by those present. Members of the Orchestral Society supplied the music during the evening.
