The ordinary routine business ot the Featberston Road Board on Saturday was somewhat enlivened by cross arguments between a resident of Featheratun and the ranger. A formal complaint was lodged against the ranger in respect of impounding and setting forth that favoritism was repeatedly shown. The complainant said on one occasion the ranger had deliberately turned nine head of cattle he found on the Underhill road into the paddock of a member of the Board. This was indignantly denied, and as indignantly vouched for as truth by the complainant. A laugh was indulged in by all present, two members expressing the hope it was none of their paddocks. Altogether, though the complaint if sustained would have been serious for the ranger, a merry little tune was spent.
