It will interest some of our readers to know that the thoroughbred horse Early Bird was found dead last Sunday in a paddock, and Messrs Bidwill Bros, are at a loss to know the cause of its death. The day before, it was in splendid condition, and there were no symptoms that anything was the matter. When found, the horse was swollen very much from head to foot and appeared to have fallen once and died without a struggle. Parts of the stomach are being sent to Mr Skey for analysis, The Plain and Fancy Dross Ball which takes place at Grey town to-morrow night bids fair to be largely attended. Mr Ward delivered a most elegant, interesting, and instructive address at the Wesleyan Church here last Sunday evening, specially intended for young men'; but whether the young men had any knowledge of the rev gentleman’s intention or not 1 cannot say.
