That Bar. Through the house with laugh and shoot, Knees threadbare and elbow out, hears with anxious doubt, Thai boy. Tain are all the leaeoaa taught, b ono abort hour they are forgot; Ocntic aianneif laarneth not That boy. Thus ebe nates while ebe tries To souths the wakened baby’s cries; While to other mischief hie* That boy. With aching heart this mother mild Looks to the future tor her child; Still heedless yells, in accents wild, That boy. She hears the dead, unearthly tone, And stiles something like a groan, To soma had end will surely owns That boy. Patience, mother, wait awhile, ■ummaa bask thy loving smile, Bom win graver eon beguile That hoy. Soon the boy * with check or tan” Will be lbs brawny, bearded man, If thorn wonldst tnat and honor then That boy. Trust him now, and let thy care Shield Us soul tram every snore That awaits to eaptore, unaware, That bey.
