The annual treat and distribution of prizes to the children of the Eaitara School, Morrison’s Bush, takes place this afternoon. A dance will be held in the evening. The annual meeting of the W and B 0 Pastoral and Agricultural Society takes place tomorrow at Carterton. Messrs Mazton and Webster have added several additions to their sale, announced for Saturday week. At the Greytown Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, the charges against Mr B. C. Dowman of committing wilful and malicious damage was dismissed, and an application for sureties to keep the peace was also dismissed. The charge of beastiality against a Native was dismissed.

The Gteytown Amateur Dramatic Club have been asked by several persons to reproduce Lady Audley’s Secret at an early date, and we believe if the necessary arrangements can be made it will be repeated at the Town Hall within a month. We are glad to find that the Club has succeeded so well in hitting the public taste. The members have always studiously avoided presenting anything of a low class order, and when this is the case parents are glad to go and take their children with them.

The election ol school committees takes place next Monday night in different parts of the Wairarapa. The llev Mr Western will preach his fare* well sermon on Sunday next—at Martinboio’ in the afternoon, and at Greytown iu the evening.
