Above his late the hanr? -mgrr bent, And turned another gr.c.ous compliment. And as befot the smiling S titan cave The man a hj. hah. rt - r 11 ■ • A rain the verse stm’. flu nt ai a rill Jnat -venders, silvcr-f 1 ed, down a hill. The S iltan. listening, nod led as before, S ii. gave the gold, and still demanded more. The nimble fancy lh»* had climbed so high Grew weary with its climbing by aud-bye ; Mian;? discocds rose; the sense went quite a : irs ; Xu.' singer s rhymes tcfu-id to meet and kis- ; Invention digged, ’hr late hid got unstrung And twice he sang tne son • already sung. Tr.e Saltan, fuiious. cal'. .1 a mute, and said. 0 Marta, straightway whip me off bis head 1 Poets 1 not in Arabia alone Yea gel beheaded when your skill ia gone.
