Deport of the Building and Site Committee of the Feathonstou Dairy Company— Featherstoo, April 13, 1337. Tout Committee bog to report that at a meeting held on the 30lh ultimo, at which all members were present, the following sites were visited, viz., a section at the rear of IB Bock s property, owned by Mr Yule. A section owned by Mr Bock, the old saw mili property, and the camp property. It was resolved to ascertain from Mr Yule upon what terms tlie Trustees could lease or sell 10 acres of the old saw mill, or four acres with barn at the camp, and tlie camp property with barn, dwelling, and 10 acres of land. This information was premised fur the meeting today but in the absence of sneb your committee cau ouly deal with the section offered by Mr Bock, situated near the junc--ion of the four roads. This section contains about oue acre, and can be leased for a term at a nominal rental with purchasing clause at £SO per acre with interest at 8 per cent. Your Committee beg to recommend that a butter factory is the most desirable as a commencement. It is the general feeling that the term lor the payment of calls is too short, aud that the proposed capital o> £2OOO is too heavy. In reference to the payment of calls, yonr Committee have tried to point out it was not intended to call up the whole capital at once, but to have it at sucb amount as to prevent the necessity, expense and trouble of increasing it at any time. Your Committee think that probably a capital of £IOOO in shares of £5 each would be sufficient for a butter factory, and that the term of calls may be extended to two years. It is found exceedingly difficult to recommend any site for bnildiug, until the share capital is subscribed. Your Committee therefore recommend that it be decided today as to the capital and valnc of shares and the site. Cei.sMiu Phillips, Chairman of Committee. A meeting of the Building Committee was held afterwards. Present—Messrs Phillips in the chair, Williams, Candy, Benton and Jackson. Mr Williams intimated that he might be visiting Sandou, and was asked by the committee to inspect tbe factory there. It was resolved that the Secretary communicate with Mr Bowron, Wellington, as to plans for a Butter Factory, for say 400 cows, with his opinion of the best appliances aud churns. The committee will meet on Saturday, the 23rd inst., at 2 o’clock.
