Kaitara School.
The usual meeting of the Kaitara School Committee vm held last Saturday night 1 Present—Messrs Ward (chairman). Wood i Mclntyre, and H. Morrieon. The following ! aeeonnts were passed for payment Miss Ja&a Murphy I*2 l\*, Mr St George 15s 4il Mr T. Wakelin 225. and Mr H. Waite 10s. It waa reaoWed, that the aecretary write to tba parents oI thoee children who neglect attending school, telling them that the compnlaory clauses of the Act would be enforced if the children were not sent regularly to sebooL 11 they were not aware of the penally the ceeretary to inform them that it was L2 per week for every week's absence. The chairman stated that probably there would be over L 3 5s for prizee, and as this was much less than in previous years, owing to various loeees sustained by the settlers, several in the room subscribed in addition 10a each, viz., A Friend, T Wakelin and II Waite.
