Easter Holiday Excursions

Those who want to spend the Easter Holidays away from home will have the means of transit at their disposal this week ; whether they will have the other necessary

“means” we date not predict. The steamer Stormhird will be despatched from Welling' .ton on a yachting excursion to the Sounds, calling at Tort Hardy and Greviile Harbor, D'Urville Island, Felorus and Queen Charlotte Sounds, leaving Wellington on Thursday evening, and returning early on Tuesday morning. Every facility will be given to shooting and fishing parties, extra boats being provided. Fare 255, meals ou board extra. The steamer Penguin is laid ou to run to Christchurch and back for 40a, leaving Wellington at seven o’clock on the evening of Thursday next. Tickets ate available for return by same steamer on Saturday, 9th, at 9 p.m., or by any steamer up to Tuesday, the 12th. The Union Company will also run the steamer Rotorua to Pioton and back for 15s, and to Nelson and back for 20s, leaving Wellington on Thursday evening at six o’clock; the return journey will be available by the Penguin which leaves Nelson, Monday, April 11, at 10 p,m., calling and leaving Picton at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The Wellington and Manawatn Railway Company have arranged cheap excursions from Wellington to Palmerston, Wanganui, and New Plymouth, and from Wellington to Woodville and Napier, via Palmerston. Saturday return and excursion tickets will be issued from Wednesday, the 6th, to Monday, the 11th April, both days inclusive, available for return till Monday, the 25tb April, fyith liberty to break the journeys at any'station. Coaches run daily between Palmerston and Woodville, connecting with the morning train from Wellington and the evening train from Palmerston, by which passengers can make the journey between Wellington and Napier in one day. The company is not responsible in any way for the coach connection between Palmerston and Woodville,. and passengers must make their own afmn|;emsnta with the coach proprietors. Special excursion tickets will be issued on the Wellington Waitarapa line of railway from Thursday to Monday, available for return up to and including Monday. In addition Saturday return tickets will be issued from any station to any station on the Wellington Mangamahoe, Napier Woodville, and Foxton New Plymouth sections from today to Monday next. On Good Friday aud Easter Monday cheap excusion tickets will be issued. Full particulars will be found in advertisement.
