MORRISON'S BUSH v. TAUHERENIKAU,

The return match between the above clubs came off last Saturday in Mr Hodge’s paddock at Morrison’s Bush. Owing to five ol their best players being absent the Bush team was very weak. One of the members, however, managed to play, although disabled (A. Wakelin). Tauherenikau went in first and ran up the score of 76. of which A. Burt 19. ai d W. Hollard 20, both ot whom were missed off easy catches alter making a few urns, were the chief contributors. Morrison’s Bush then went in and made 4a, A. Wakelin 8, .1. Cross 6, and W. Beeves 7, were the highest scorers, Tauherenikau in their second innings scored 111), P. Bladen 89, 0. Smith 29, S. Burt 12, and W. Smith 10, being the best scorers. Bladen, owing to an error of one of the umpires, was not given out after he had made a few runs. Morrison’s Bush only made 19 io their second innings, The fielding of the Tauherenikau team woe very good, hut that of the Bush team very weak Bladen, A audS. Burt, aod J. locker bowled for Tauherenikau, and D. Cross and Beeves for Morrison's Bush. At 1 p.m. an excellent luncheon was provided by the landlady of the local hotel, Mrs Hodge, to which full justice was done. Subsequently Mrs Hodge entertained both teams at tea in a very generous manner, amt for this both teams passed a cordial vote of thanks with acclamation. Both at luncheon and at tea the cricketers were served in the most cours tcous and pleasant manner. Though the match was too one-sided to he very interesting, the day's outing wa* a un-st enjoyable ime, and wveral of the icsidenta ol loth Ji-tricls were on the ginuud. If Mr Bladen bad retired when he had made 9 runs, the total would have been 30 less. The following are the scores ;
