Featherston Road Board.

NO. 5 WAED The Polling oi the ratepayers of No 5 subdivision in the Featherston Road Board, will take place at the Town Hall, Martinborough, on Thursday the 3rd day of March next, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The question is to borrow a sum of £SOO for 26 years, under the provisions of tho Loans to Local Bodies Act for the purpose of forming toads, d;c., in such special rating district. If the people of Martinborough are alive to the r own interests they will embrace tho op[ ortunity of getting their unformed roads made without delay by taking this, which for soire time may be the only chance of doing the work upon such very easy terms. It they had only the in iciest to lay out, viz. £25 per year it would take them twenty years to get their roads made, so of course if they want roads they will take the loan, It they prefer to remain stagnant and let other districts step in before them and get their roads while they remain in a supine end unprogressive position, ot course they will reject the loan at the poll. Good roads are the greatest essentials to advancement, and surely our Lower Valley settlers are as much aware of that fact as those iu other districts, and by their votes on the 3rd of March will doubtless prove that their watch-word is “ Progression.”
