The Wool Market.
Lobdok. February 2. At tbs wool sales today 1160 bales were offered. Prices are firmly maintained. Greasy and scon red wools are about a penny higher, and crossbreds a halfpenny higher than at the close of last sales. Mclboubm, February 3. The New Zealand Loan and Mercamile Agency's weekly circular says It is stated, we believe conectly, that shippers of gram and some ot the millers have adopted the American pool system, one firm buying for all, thereby avoiding competition. In eon sequence of this some of tbe growers are refusing to rail, and are forwarding their grain to Melbourne for storage. Messrs Goldsborougb and Co. have sold 80,000 bales of wocl in Melbourne and Sydney this season, thus surpassing all previous records.
