SPORTING.
(By Lcddebdown)
It it expected that the meeting on the Taratahi Coarse tomorrow will be well patronised despite the fact that there are so man; counter attractions lor the same day, but men who are absorbed in the sport ot horse racing would forego any other amusement in favour of being present. There are some fair acceptances and until it is all over I think the results are very open. It anyone would select any other horse but Normanby for the T.C.J.C. Handicap, he must have a vastly different idea of the cattle than I have. 1 don’t like Hollo, sometimes he is wicked. For the Clareville Handicap I shall fancy Satanella if Normanby enters for both. The Maiden 1 think will be secured by Scraps, as I think the judges eye will fall upon that animal some few seconds before the second horse makes its appearance at the finish. As 1 said before. Do not pile too much on one nag as the chances are that yonr confidence may be misplaced. There is one thing about the stewards at Carterton they are “ all tramps.” They will not be beaten by trifles, and are just the men who, having a determination will endeavor to carry it out in the face of all obstacles, such an organisation always succeeds. The Hack entries ate expected to be very numerous.
