The Wairarapa Jockey Club have presented an excellent programme for their annual meeting to be held on the 2Hth and 29th inst. There are no less than 15 events, and the money to be run for is something considerable. We hope to hear of extra good acceptances for the occasion. The course, if we get a little rain during the interval, will be in undisputed good fettle. The Wairarapa Jockey Club's nominations for the Telegraph Handicap, Juvenile Handicap, Wairarapa Cup, Handicap Hurdles, J. C. Handicap, .and Hallway Handicap will be received np to today, Wednesday 19tb inst., by the Secretary, Mr S. It. Armstrong. Weights for the Telegraph, Juvenile, Cup, and Hurdle Handicap, will be declared on Monday next, 24th iustaut, and the accep. tances, general entries, and nominations for

The Lower Valley Jockey Club Stewards hold a meeting at Orr’s Hotel, Martinborough, on Saturday night, Mr C. Hams in the chair. Present—Messrs U Harris, Orr, Evans, ci Pain, J Hodge and II C Lawman, secretary. Six new members were proposed and elected, and several accounts passed for payment. It was also shown that alter all liabilities are paid the club will have a credit balance in hand oi £lO.

The advertisement announcing the sale ol privileges lor the forthcoming Wairaarapa Jockey Club's Kaoe Meeting on the 28th and 2tnh instant, appears in another column. The sale takes place on tbe 20tb instant (Thnrsday), at Greytowu, by Mr F. H. Wood, and as this meeting will be a most important one, tbe sale of privilege* should command some brisk competition. A private steeplechase took place last night st Martinborongh course, over a distance ol little more than a mile, between the boree* Kainbow and Supplejack. Both horses got well over the sticks and Supplejack won lb* [ match. The Lower Valley Jockey Club is now in a flourishing financial position, and ihsaettleri in that district anticipate being able to offer a handsome programme next year which will eclipse anything hitherto dune t>y this club,
