All entries most be made subject to the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and that such decision shall be final and binding in all cases. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, T.C.J.C. Handicap, and Clareville Handicap, to be made in writing, stating name, pedigree, performances, description and see of horse, and tne colon of the rider, and to be sent in, accompanied by tha nomination fee, to the Hon Sec., (G. W. Deller), Carterton, ou or before WEDNESDAY, the 29th December, 1886, and published in Che local newspaper. Acceptances and general entries to be made on or before MONDAY, the 17th January, 1887, at 9 pm. Three entries or the public money will be withheld. No protest will be be considered unless lodged with the Secretary within ten minutes after the race, accompanied by a deposit of two pounds, which shall be forfeited if the stewards are of opinion that the protest is frivolous or vexatious. All Jockeys to ride in the colors nominated or a fine of 1 sov will be enforced. The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 am, first race to start at 12 sharp. The New Zealand Metropolitan rules to apply in all cases where not provided for in this programme. A horse to run in the hack race, must comply with the following conditions, via, (1) It must be in actual use as a boua fide hack, i?) It must not have been trained, (i.c.) galloped or sweated in clothing, or rug, at least, for six months before this race meeting. (3) It must never have been entered other race, the advertised stake of which being more than fifty pounds. (4) It must not for two years previous to this race meeting have started for any race, except a Hack, or Hack Hurdle Race. (5) It must never have won any race except a Hack, or Hack Hurdle Race. G.
