RULES AND REGULATIONS. All entfiea moat be made subject to the condition that all dispates, claims, and objections arising * nt of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and that such decision shall be final and binding in all cases. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, T.C.J.C. Handicap, and Clareville Handicap, to be made in writing, stating name, pedigree, pehonnancee, description and age of horse, and the colon of the nder, and to be sent in, accompanied by the nomination fee, to the Hon Sec., (G. W. Deller), Carterton, on or before WEDNESDAY, the 29th December, 1886, and published in the local newspaper. Acceptances and general entries to be made •>n or before MONDAY, the 17th January, 1887, at 9 pm. Three entries or the public money will be withheld. No protest will be be considered unless lodged with thd Secretary* within ten minutes after the race, accompanied by a deposit of two pounds, which shall *>e forfeited if the stewards are of opinion that the protest is frivolous or vexatious. All Jockeys to ride in the colors nominated or a flue of 1 sov will be enforced PROGRAMME.

The saddling bell will ring at 11.30 am, first race to *tart at 12 sharp. The New Zealand Metropolitan rules to apply in all cases where not provided for in this programme. A horse to run in the back race, must comply with the following conditions, viz, (1) It must be in actual use as a bona fide hack. .2) It must not have been trained, (i.e.) galloped or sweated in clothing, or rug, at least, for six months before this race meeting. (3) It must never have been entered forany other race, the advertised stake of which being more than fifty pounds. (4) It must not for two years previous to this race meeting have started for any race, except a Hack, or Hack Hurdle Race. <6) It must never have won any race except a Hack, or Hack Hurdle Race. G.
